Boat Rentals: (352) 597-8484

Paddling Adventures is the only canoe and kayak rental facility located on the river at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Florida. Your paddle will take you about three hours to complete without stopping down 5.5 miles of picturesque natural beauty and crystal clear waters. Much of the river is under natural canopy. The river’s depth averages from one foot to four feet. There are many twists and turns in the river so keep on the lookout for turtles, manatees, various aquatic birds, and the occasional otter.

Enjoy paddling, canoeing, kayaking and the wildlife on this river, which was named by the Seminole Indians and translates to “winding river.” You’ll start your journey at the state park and paddle underneath the shade of cypress, oak trees and of course Florida’s distinctive palm trees. Along the way you will also see manatees, turtles, otters, pelicans and wood storks. Don’t forget to pack a picnic lunch and non-alcoholic beverages (no glass) to enjoy at various stopping areas along the river. Don’t worry about paddling back; the Paddling Adventures shuttle back to the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park will pick you up here!

About the launch

After completing the proper paperwork at the PADDLING ADVENTURES facility guests are directed to pick-up their paddles and PFD’s (life jackets) directly behind the facility. Rental canoes and kayaks are brought down to the beach type launch ramp by PADDLING ADVENTURES staff. The staff provides basic paddling instruction for anyone who might request it. It is very easy to access the canoes and kayaks from the ramp. Then off to a wonderful paddle down the Weeki Wachee River.

About the pick-up

After approximately three hours (assuming no stopping) guests arrive at the pick-up point which is ROGERS PARK. A PADDLING ADVENTURES staff member will assist the guest out of their canoe or kayak. The guest(s) are then directed to a staging area to wait for the arrival of the next available shuttle van. The guest(s), canoes and kayaks are loaded on the van with a trailer and transported back to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
